Filesystems Monitor in CCMS


This monitor displays a section of the Operating System Monitor, which displays all of the values collected by the operating system collector SAPOSCOL. You can use this monitor to monitor application servers and host systems of your choice and to check whether there is still enough free disk space available. The values are collected by the operating system collector SAPOSCOL. You can also monitor this data with the operating system monitor, which is assigned as the analysis method for most of the nodes of this monitor.
Prerequisites
To be able to display operating system data for a particular server with this monitor, the operating system collector SAPOSCOL must be installed on that server (see Installing the Operating System Collector SAPOSCOL).

Activities
To start the monitor, follow the procedure below:

1. Start the Alert Monitor using transaction RZ20 or choose CCMS ® Control/Monitoring ® Alert Monitor.

2. On the CCMS Monitor Sets screen, expand the SAP CCMS Monitor Templates set.

3. Start the Filesystems monitor from the list by double clicking it.

How to know or get the Kernel Version of SAP system?

There are many ways through which you can get the Version Number of SAP Kernel.
One of the method is from any window in the top menu go to
system--> status and click on the other kernel info button which is between the navigate and cancel buttons.

Another method is to login as administrator and enter the following disp+work -v. in command field on left top corner. This will show you the kernel version of SAP.

You can also check the log or trace files at os level /usr/sap/work/dev_disp.

You can also get this kernel information from sm51 screen. Go to transaction sm51 then click on database server (single click only. Not double click) and then click on release notes. Then you will see the kernel information and patch

What is SAP Basis?

SAP Basis is a set of middleware programs and tools from SAP, the German company whose comprehensive R/3 product is used to help manage large corporations, that provides the underlying base (thus the name) that enables applications (such as FI, CO, and SD, for example) to be seamlessly interoperable and portable across operating systems and database products. SAP R/3 Basis includes client/server architecture and configuration, a relational database management system (RDBMS), and a graphical user interface (GUI).

The Basis System (BC) includes the ABAP programming language, and is the heart (i.e. the base) of operations and should not be visible to higher level or managerial users. Other customizing and implementation tools exist also. The heart of the system (from a manager's viewpoint) are the application modules. These modules may not all be implemented in a typical company but they are all related and are listed below:
